We’re looking for an Administrative Program Specialist C within the Financial Services section at DPS-OMF.Selected Core Competencies:

Thinking Strategically: The ability to generate insights and identify opportunities for future growth of the organization.Minimum Qualifications Five years of experience in administrative services; ORSix years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in administrative services; ORA bachelor’s degree plus two years of experience in administrative services; ORAn advanced degree plus one year of experience in administrative services.EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.Job Specification The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found .Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties:

  • Supervise subordinates on the Administrative Program Team.
  • Administration of Fireman, Constables, & Justices Supplemental pay is a statewide program that is unique to Public Safety Services.
  • Implements program standards and guidelines for established policies and revises as necessary.
  • Maintains database for supplemental pay overpayments due from municipalities for Firemen, Constables, and Justices programs; collects and compiles statistical data required to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Executes quarterly board meetings for Fireman Supplemental Pay and ensures security of those records; represents the department at the meetings. Confers with Federal, State and Local government authorities, Mayors, Fire Chiefs, and other Department officials.
  • Responsible for reconciliation and release of Fireman, Constables, & Justices payments on a monthly basis, manages database information for accuracy and completeness, maintains security over highly confidential information housed in database system and in office.
  • Manages, oversees and recommends approval/disapproval for each new Fireman, Constables, & Justices applicant package to determine if all eligibility requirements are met in accordance with State Legislative Statutes governing the program; contacts recipients, employers, municipal officers, Mayors, etc. to elicit corrections or modify conflicts in information presented.

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
Location: This vacancy is located in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The bi-weekly rate for this position is as follows:
