Enterprise Architect – Infrastructure (Healthcare)

Location: Warrenville, IL / Skokie, IL / Arlington Heights, IL

Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking an Enterprise Architect (Infrastructure) to drive enterprise-wide infrastructure strategy within a healthcare technology environment. This is a strategic, non-managerial role focused exclusively on infrastructure architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise-wide infrastructure architecture and IT strategy
• Integrate infrastructure designs from multiple solution architects into unified architectures
• Design end-to-end infrastructure solutions across data center, cloud, and hybrid environments
• Establish enterprise technology standards, frameworks, and roadmaps
• Coordinate infrastructure architecture across networking, compute, storage, security, and application delivery domains
• Translate complex technical architectures for IT leadership and business stakeholders
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams
• Maintain architectural awareness of clinical, business, and infrastructure application ecosystems

Required Technical Expertise

• Deep, cross-platform infrastructure knowledge, including:

• Data centers and hybrid infrastructure

• Virtualization platforms

• Storage and compute

• Server and networking architectures

• Application delivery technologies

• Active Directory and identity services

• Strong understanding of cloud and security technologies

• Experience designing elastic, scalable, and resilient infrastructure

• Ability to bridge on-premises and cloud environments

• Proven expertise integrating full infrastructure stacks end-to-end

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Enterprise-level infrastructure subject matter expert
• Able to speak in-depth and technically during interviews and design discussions
• Strong communicator who can synthesize and align designs from multiple specialist architects
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
• Strategic thinker focused on architecture and design not hands-on implementation or troubleshooting

• Ability to connect multiple technology domains into cohesive enterprise strategies
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
• Healthcare IT experience is a plus
