TikTok Design-IM team focuses on shaping TikTok’s messaging experiences end to end, crafting expressive tools and interaction patterns that help millions of users communicate naturally and creatively. Through close collaboration with cross-functional partners, we turn complex product challenges into elegant, user-centered solutions on a global scale.

Responsibilities

  • Design consumer-facing products at TikTok that impact hundreds of millions of users globally, with a focus on instant messaging and social interaction experiences.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to evolve early product ideas into well-defined concepts and scalable design solutions that meet real user needs.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of high-impact design projects, from concept exploration through detailed UI design and final delivery.
  • Deeply engage with and use the product to build a strong understanding of user behavior and business context; proactively identify opportunities through data analysis and user research, and translate insights into actionable design outcomes.
  • Drive product innovation by advocating for user-centered design principles and continuously raising the bar for design quality.
