About this Job Division: The Community Forensics Services Department at the Forensic Aftercare Clinic located in New Orleans, LA.The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana.The Aftercare Clinic is looking for a motivated individual to deliver direct services to court ordered patients including nursing assessments, draw blood for lab work to be completed, administer injections of psychiatric medications prescribed, participate in treatment planning, conduct follow-up care with clients, and a variety of coordination of care duties to be performed at the clinic and the patient’s homes.Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:Two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; ORA bachelor’s degree in nursing plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse; ORA master’s degree in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse; ORA doctorate in nursing or public health.Job Specification The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be foundJob Duties and Other InformationJob Duties: In this role, you will:

  • Serve as relief/WAE at an experienced level. Develop nursing plan of care in conjunction with the Treatment Team.
  • Complete nursing assessments, reassessments, treatment plans, and other required nursing forms legibly and accurately in a timely manner.
  • Transcribe doctor’s Orders accurately and timely, prepares, administers, and documents medications and treatment as ordered.
  • Participate with Treatment Team and provides nursing input when assigned to multi-disciplinary teams or projects; reports nursing participation as needed.
  • Assist and or conducts patient care groups.
  • Maintain open and accurate communication with Treatment Team, reports incidents, accidents or injuries to supervisor and document on appropriate forms.
  • Actively participate in the development and update of both departmental and nursing service procedures as needed. Maintain a current and valid RN license and obtain continuing education credits as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with PPD testing and annual mandated trainings as per policy.

Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: WAE (not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12-month period)Compensation:

  • This position has an SER of $36.30 an hour

  • This position qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays.
