Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Brooksource’s retail client is looking to hire a Lead Data Engineer. This role requires strong technical leadership, solution design, and mentorship capabilities while partnering closely with Data Engineers to define, design, and drive technical solutions across corporate initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product owners, project managers, and engineering leads to define and manage technical work
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers (Software & Data)
  • Lead solution architecture and assignment of technical tasks
  • Provide hands-on support and guidance across software, data, and DevOps efforts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams onsite periodically
  • Integrate with external platforms and evolve internal tools using cloud-native practices

Skills

  • 10 years in engineering roles, with 7 years leading technical teams or large projects
  • Strong experience in solution architecture, technical leadership, and project delivery
  • Comfortable managing complex technical workloads without people management duties
  • Experience working across software engineering, data engineering, and DevOps
  • Cloud/DevOps: Strong Azure experience required (Data Factory, Logic Apps, Containerization)
  • Data Engineering: Azure data services, Snowflake, SaaS integrations
  • Experience in full-stack development and enterprise-scale integrations
  • Frontend/Backend Development: Next.js, React, Node.js, JavaScript, preferred
  • Retail industry experience strongly preferred (especially in customer, finance, or supply chain domains)
