VP of IT, Aerospace

The Vice President of Business Unit IT leads all technology functions for a designated business unit within a decentralized IT model. This executive role ensures technology strategy, execution, and governance fully align with the business unit’s objectives while maintaining compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute IT strategies that directly support the business unit’s operational and strategic goals.
- Align technology initiatives with broader corporate governance, security standards, and enterprise architecture.
- Oversee application development, infrastructure, and IT support services for the business unit.
- Lead budgeting, financial planning, and cost-optimization efforts across IT operations.
- Ensure cybersecurity readiness, compliance, and risk management for all business-unit systems.
- Partner with corporate IT and cross-functional leaders to maintain interoperability, shared standards, and seamless integration.
- Lead, mentor, and develop IT teams while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and high performance.
- Provide regular reporting on IT performance, strategic initiatives, and business impact to both business unit leadership and corporate executives.
- Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, operational excellence, and project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of IT leadership experience, including 5+ years leading decentralized or federated IT functions.
- Experience within a publicly traded company is strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of IT governance, cybersecurity, compliance, and risk-management frameworks.
- Demonstrated success managing IT budgets and delivering complex, enterprise-level technology initiatives.
- Requires up to 75% travel the first year
