The Project Manager manages and coordinates all tasks associated with one or more small-to-large projects or a component of a larger project of minimal to moderate complexity and risk.

Required Certifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP)

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes for Medicaid IT services.
  • Creates and maintains documentation throughout all phases of system replacement initiatives.
  • Manages and oversees the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout stages for projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Coordinates and directs projects from inception through completion using standard project management methodologies.
  • Develops and maintains project work plans.
  • Monitors scope and schedule to ensure deliverables, milestones, and tasks are completed as planned and on time.
  • Oversees the creation and execution of communication plans.
  • Prepares status reports and provides ongoing updates to stakeholders, sponsors, and leadership.
  • Identifies potential risks and issues and facilitates resolution by recommending and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Builds and supports a collaborative, high-performing project team.
  • Works within established Change Management and Release Management frameworks to support system implementations.
  • Demonstrates experience in designing and developing project-related dashboards.
  • Possesses experience in process documentation, gathering stakeholder feedback, and presenting to senior leadership.
  • This position may require working more than 40 hours per week on an as-needed basis, including weekends.

Required Skills (in order of importance):

  • Project management expertise
  • Strong organizational, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Power BI, Project Web App, Teams, and mainframe environments

  • Healthcare claims processing
  • Process development and management
  • Incident and change management

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor s degree
  • 6-12 years of project management experience
