Growing together.OptumRx is seeking a curious, adaptable, and self-motivated Business Analyst with a passion for operational excellence and project management. In this role, you will collaborate closely with leadership and stakeholders in the Network Pricing Team to understand business needs, drive process improvements, and identify innovative solutions. You will serve as the primary liaison between Business and Data/Analytics teams, documenting requirements, identifying gaps, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of business operations and be able to translate business needs into actionable data, analytical, and reporting solutions. Independence, initiative, and a quick learning ability are essential, as is a commitment to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.Supports Provider Network (physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, ancillary facilities, etc.) contracting and unit cost management activities by collaborating with financial and network pricing teams. Performs analysis and reporting to support network contracting negotiations and unit cost management strategies. Works closely with subject matter experts who conduct financial modeling and contract valuation, assisting in gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements. Provides analytical support for performance reporting and financial initiatives, ensuring data accuracy and actionable insights. Requires a solid understanding of financial concepts to effectively communicate with pricing and contracting teams, but does not directly manage unit cost budgets or conduct price modeling.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Operational Excellence & Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support documentation management, including archiving, publishing, and regular review of business process documentation
  • Manage and enhance SharePoint pages, including creation and maintenance of templates, folders, document libraries, forms, trackers, calendars, and content for various teams and initiatives
  • Coordinate and facilitate operational readiness activities, including annual and quarterly planning, issue tracking, and reporting
  • Drive process improvement initiatives, standardization efforts, and change management processes across multiple projects
  • Support training content development and organization for internal knowledge hubs and university programs
  • Manage team mailbox, triage incoming requests, and ensure timely follow-through and tracking to completion
  • Collaborate on audit and control testing, ensuring compliance and identifying process gaps
  • Gather relevant content, prepare, and deliver regular communications and status updates to stakeholders and leadership, ensuring information is accurate and timely

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research and collate documentation pertaining to business processes and procedures. Independently research, review, and collect available technical information as basis for documentation
  • Responsible for the creation and architecture of document repositories of processes and procedures
  • Manage task assignment process by triaging and assigning tasks
  • Create reports and visual graphics for senior leadership to show status of in-flight tasks
  • Support multiple short- and long-term operational/strategic project initiatives simultaneously through business and data analysis
  • Communicate project progress to stakeholders and business leaders at every step of the project
  • Lead discussions with peers and leaders to understand business needs, identify challenges, and find opportunities for improvements
  • Create a detailed Business Analysis outlining problems, opportunities, and solutions for business
  • Assist in documenting requirements and defining scope and objectives. Help with creating use cases, user stories, process flows, data mapping etc.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate business needs and translate them into data, analytical and reporting efforts
  • Keep track of project progress at each stage by designing goals, identifying success markers, and measuring those
  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams to identify business, data and reporting needs and assist where needed
  • Excellent/demonstrated verbal and written communication skills are an absolute requirement

  • 1 years of experience in business/finance including analysis experience with a solid understanding of data and systems
  • 1 years of experience with project methodology (requirements, design, development, test and implementation)
  • Proficient experience with PC-based software programs and automated database management systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with SharePoint management, including page creation, forms, document libraries, calendar setup, access management, and content organization
  • Experience supporting operational excellence initiatives, including documentation management, process improvement, and change management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification
  • Experience in Business, Finance, Health Administration, IT or related field
  • Experience in analysis of business process and workflow and providing an evaluation, benchmark and/or process improvement recommendations
  • Experience with audit and control testing, and supporting compliance initiatives
  • Experience developing training content and managing knowledge repositories
  • Experience utilizing Visio
  • Experience with PC-based software programs and automated database management systems (Tableau, SQL, etc.)

The salary for this role will range from $58,800 to $105,000 annually based on full-time employment.
