Travel Registered Nurse PACU Job
Embark on a rewarding journey as a Registered Nurse in the PACU in Greenbrae, California, where your expertise will guide patients from immediate post-anesthesia recovery toward safety, comfort, and rapid, confident transitions. This role places you at the heart of patient care—stabilizing airways, monitoring vitals, managing pain and nausea, and coordinating with anesthesia and surgical teams to tailor plans for each individual’s recovery. You’ll translate clinical assessment into timely, proactive interventions, elevate patient and family confidence, and uphold the highest standards of safety and compassion. California itself offers an inspiring backdrop for your practice: sun-drenched coastlines, redwood forests, dynamic cities, and a tapestry of communities that make every day feel like a new opportunity. From the scenic beauty of Marin County to the excitement of the Bay Area’s cultural offerings, weekends can blend restorative time outdoors with enriching experiences that nourish your lifelong learning and well-being.
Greenbrae provides a serene, accessible base in Marin County with easy access to San Francisco and top-tier healthcare networks. You’ll be embedded in a setting that values teamwork, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement, while enjoying the benefits of a location renowned for its quality of life. This assignment also offers the flexibility to work across locations within the United States, expanding your clinical exposure and connecting you with diverse hospital cultures. The combination of professional variety and a stable schedule—36 guaranteed hours per week—creates a compelling balance between meaningful patient impact and personal time. You’ll benefit from a welcoming professional community, modern facilities, and great opportunities to engage with mentors who support your growth and confidence as a PACU nurse.
In this PACU RN role, your responsibilities center on vigilant post-anesthesia care, meticulous documentation, and collaborative care planning. You’ll assess airway patency and respiratory status, monitor hemodynamics, titrate analgesia and antiemetic therapies, assist with airway management or ventilatory support as needed, and coordinate smooth transfers to inpatient units. You’ll communicate clearly with surgical teams, anesthesia providers, and postoperative staff to anticipate needs and prevent complications, while upholding infection control standards and safety protocols. The role affords robust professional growth within the PACU specialty, with pathways to lead at the unit level, mentor new team members, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and expand expertise across recovery phases and patient populations. To support your success, the program emphasizes structured onboarding, ongoing education, and opportunities to deepen your competency in advanced monitoring, acuity management, and perioperative care coordination. The position details include a contract beginning on 01/05/2026, with a duration listed in weeks; weekly pay ranges from $2,361 to $2,542, and guaranteed hours are 36.0 per week. In addition, you’ll have access to a sign-on bonus, housing assistance to ease relocation or lodging, and possibilities for contract extensions that can extend your service with the same team and hospital system. Comprehensive travel support is a hallmark of the program, providing 24/7 assistance while you’re on assignment, so you’re never alone in navigating shifts, schedules, or travel logistics.
Our commitment to you goes beyond a single assignment. The company values empower healthcare professionals by prioritizing your career advancement and a supportive work environment. You’ll join a community that recognizes your clinical judgment, respects your autonomy, and invests in your ongoing development through mentorship, continuing education resources, and collaborative, multidisciplinary teamwork. The culture emphasizes open communication, respect for diverse perspectives, and shared accountability for outcomes. You’ll find opportunities to broaden your scope within perioperative nursing, gain exposure to high-performing teams, and contribute to initiatives that enhance patient recovery pathways and patient satisfaction. We believe that when you feel supported and valued, your clinical performance and patient care thrive—and your professional journey advances in meaningful, lasting ways.
