Employee Relations Coordinator

Responsibilities:PURPOSE: To provide critical support to and within the STL Terminal including maintenance of employee data, compliance with all laws and company policies, and assistance in the execution of HR initiatives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES: – Develop and implement employee relations programs and initiatives to foster a positive work environment.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints or concerns, ensuring fair and unbiased outcomes.
- Collaborate with HR Director to develop and update policies and procedures related to employee relations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS systems such as Oracle, Taleo, UKG, or Kronos.
- Utilize data analysis skills to identify trends or areas of improvement in employee relations processes.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Stay current on employment laws and regulations, including OSHA requirements, to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate with external vendors such as Paychex for payroll processing and other HR-related services.- Perform attendance audits
- Conduct interviews for potential new hires or internal promotions.
- Assist in the coordination of company events
- Maintain personnel records in compliance with laws
- Ensure compliance with Labor Law postings at all locations
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Provide excellent customer service
- Complete special projects
- Manage multiple duties simultaneously
- Work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times
- Crosstrain and assist in any HR functions as needed or required
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Driver License
- 4 year degree and 1 year experience in Business, HR or other related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems such as Oracle, Taleo, UKG, or Ceridian.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent data entry and typing skills preferred
- Human Resources experience preferred
- Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, and problem-solver
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and react to change productively
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems
- Ability to work on tasks independently or in a team environment
- Excellent attendance
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time
- May be occasionally required to exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
- The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc;
- Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
- Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
- Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others
