Entry Level Technical Sourcer (Remote, 20–30 hrs/week)

Sundog Talent | Boutique Recruiting Partner for High-Growth Startups

Sundog Talent is looking for a junior sourcer who loves the craft: someone curious, detail-driven, and comfortable running tight, repeatable workflows. You’ll help us source engineering and product talent for some of the most interesting VC-backed startups in the country. Quiet focus, clean execution, and intense curiosity matter more here than polish or flash.

About Sundog Talent

We’re a boutique recruiting firm trusted by some of the most ambitious startup founders in tech—many from the Stripe, Plaid, and FAANG networks. We work on searches that shape core engineering and product teams at companies backed by top-tier VCs.

We’re hiring an entry-level Tech Sourcer who wants to learn the craft of executive search by doing real work from day one. This is not a “check the box” sourcing job. You’ll be trained to think like a talent strategist, learn how to find needles in haystacks, and sharpen your communication skills to engage elite operators.

You might be a fit if you:

  • Love researching people, companies, and patterns in tech

  • Communicate clearly and crisply, especially in writing

  • Are reliable, organized, and consistent—your idea of a good day involves clean spreadsheets and inbox zero

  • Enjoy working at a high bar, with high expectations

  • Want to build a career in tech recruiting, strategy, or venture

You’re probably not a fit if you:

  • Need a lot of daily structure or don’t like ambiguity

  • Aren’t detail-oriented or get bored doing repetitive tasks

  • Prefer a slow, corporate pace—we move quickly and care about quality

What You’ll Do

You will support technical searches end-to-end on the sourcing side. Expect clear targets, calm workflows, and a team that values consistency.

  • Build targeted sourcing searches for engineering and technical roles
  • Surface 100+ qualified leads per week across multiple sourcing channels
  • Send outbound messages and handle basic candidate communication
  • Maintain clean data in Ashby and across sourcing pipelines
  • Support light coordination tasks such as scheduling intros and updating statuses
  • Research companies, communities, and talent pools to sharpen targeting
  • Partner closely with our lead recruiter to iterate and improve sourcing quality
  • Keep pipelines steady and predictable across multiple client engagements

What We’re Looking For

  • 0–2+ years of experience in recruiting, sourcing, or research-heavy work
  • High attention to detail and consistent weekly habits
  • Strong propensity towards pattern recognition
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean basics, and structured research
  • Clean, professional written communication
  • Ability to stay organized across multiple searches and priorities
  • Genuine interest in sourcing as a craft, not a fast path to full-cycle recruiting

How You Work

  • High ownership, strong judgement and a bias toward action
  • Comfortable moving quickly and making smart, scrappy decisions
  • Able to set your own structure and iterate without hand-holding
  • Communicates proactively and clearly in a remote environment

Hours and Flexibility

  • 20–30 hours per week depending on business needs
  • Some week-to-week variability with clear weekly targets
  • Fully remote
  • Asynchronous-friendly with a few required check-ins
  • Monday through Friday availability required

We are looking for someone reliable, consistent, and communicative who likes flexibility but delivers predictable output.

Compensation

  • $25–35 dollars per hour depending on experience
  • Potential for increased hours as the business grows

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour
