About The Role We are seeking an experienced and strategic Data Science leader to join our dynamic team at Credit Genie. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in analytics and consumer risk management who is passionate about solving complex data problems and driving impactful results. As a key member of our AI/ML and Data Science community, you will lead the design and implementation of our next-generation risk optimization strategies. These strategies are central to our core operations, influencing underwriting, fraud prevention, and collections processes. Your work will directly impact our customers’ financial well-being by enabling smarter decision-making and continuous improvement in risk management practices. You will have the opportunity to collaborate across multiple teams, including Product, Engineering, Data, and Machine Learning, to develop innovative solutions that enhance portfolio performance and customer experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Economics, or related fields; an advanced degree is preferred
- 8+ years of experience analyzing data using SQL or Python, with proficiency in Python for data processing and modeling
- Hands-on experience in risk strategy within payments, lending, banking, or financial institutions is a plus
- Proven ability to design, execute, and interpret experiments such as A/B testing or causal analysis
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical rigor, with the ability to translate complex insights into actionable recommendations
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with SQL and data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Tableau
Responsibilities
- Leverage advanced analytics and machine learning models to optimize risk strategies across credit, fraud, and collections domains
- Own the development and delivery of risk insights that inform data-driven decision-making to minimize losses and support sustainable growth
- Monitor key risk KPIs, identify emerging loss trends, and recommend strategic enhancements to improve approval and portfolio performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Data, and Machine Learning to align objectives and deliver actionable insights
- Act as a strategic risk advisor to business stakeholders, translating complex analyses into clear, impactful recommendations
- Design, execute, and evaluate experiments to drive continuous learning and process improvements in risk management
- Develop innovative solutions to ambiguous and high-impact problems, enhancing customer experience and portfolio outcomes
