About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our team, focusing on the Insurance Policy module. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to enhancing the internal user experience and streamlining sales and servicing processes. Your expertise will support the modernization and optimization of our policy administration systems, including product configuration, underwriting rules, and end-to-end workflows. Collaborating closely with module owners, internal stakeholders, and technical teams, you will gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements. Your primary focus will be on internal-facing sales and servicing tools, product offering management, and underwriting automation. The goal is to ensure that policy functionalities align with business objectives, regulatory standards, and provide a seamless experience for internal users across sales, service, and underwriting functions. This role offers the opportunity to influence key systems that drive our insurance operations, ensuring they are efficient, compliant, and user-centric.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the insurance industry and policy administration domain
- Deep understanding of the personal auto insurance policy lifecycle, including quoting, binding, servicing, endorsements, and renewals
- Experience supporting or configuring policy administration platforms such as Duck Creek Policy, Guidewire PolicyCenter, or similar systems
- Knowledge of insurance product structures, rating logic, underwriting rules, and servicing workflows
- Prior involvement in large-scale policy or core systems modernization projects within an agile framework
- Proficiency with Agile tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, or Rally
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities and complex dependencies
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Module Owner and stakeholders across Internal Sales, Underwriting, Customer Service, and Product to understand and translate business goals and user needs into technical requirements
- Lead elicitation and documentation of business requirements related to policy sales, servicing workflows, and product rules configuration
- Convert business requirements into functional specifications, process flows, and user stories for development teams
- Analyze and optimize internal workflows for quoting, binding, policy changes, renewals, and cancellations to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Collaborate with Underwriting and Product teams to define rules logic and automation criteria for policy issuance and servicing
- Work with developers and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of requirements, change logs, processes, and decision rationale
- Support root cause analysis for production issues and assist in identifying solutions through historical requirement analysis
- Ensure compliance with insurance regulations, internal governance, and data standards
- Monitor trends in policy administration and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business strategy
