PACS Administrator

A large hospital system in Alabama is currently seeking a contract PACS Administrator. The position will be based out of the Birmingham area.

Responsibilities:

Administrate and maintain the PACS environment and related ancillary applications, ensuring high availability and reliability of imaging data for clinical staff.

  • Coordinate system upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting to optimize system performance and reliability.

  • Implement and enforce data management policies, including image, storage, retrieval, and archiving processes.

  • Provide Technical support and training to end-users on PACS functionalities, workflows, etc.

  • Collaborate with radiology and IT teams to ensure seamless integration between PACS and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

  • Conduct regular performance assessments and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and quality assurance metrics.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to the PACS Environment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in applied science (Radiology), Health Information Technology, Computer Science, and any other related fields.

  • Alternatively, 3 + years of experience supporting PACS and or IT related issues in a clinical environment.

  • Strong knowledge of DICOM standards and HL7 interfaces.

  • Experience with PACS administration, including troubleshooting and system configuration.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational efficiency.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting Merge PACS solutions and integrations

  • Certification in PACS or relevant imaging technologies or any other related technologies

  • Familiar with all Imaging Modalities (X-Ray, CT, MRI, etc )
