Finance Manager — Special Situations

Location: Boston, MA

Base Salary: $125,000 — $145,000 + discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits

A leading global investment firm with more than $180 billion in assets under management is seeking a Finance Manager to join its Special Situations team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic investment platform that provides bespoke capital solutions across asset classes, markets, and geographies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee core finance functions, portfolio management, and investor reporting for a complex and evolving investment platform.

  • Understand and manage the accounting, tax, and legal implications of sophisticated fund structures.

  • Review monthly returns, NAVs, capital reporting, quarterly financial statements, and management fee/carry calculations.

  • Lead annual audit processes and coordinate closely with external auditors and administrators.

  • Partner with deal and portfolio management teams to address financial and operational matters.

  • Identify and drive process improvements through automation and technology to enhance reporting efficiency and data accessibility.

  • Support fundraising and investor requests through accurate and timely information delivery.

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of experience within an investment advisor, private equity, or public accounting environment.

  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting background; familiarity with complex investment structures.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and operate with high independence.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of collaborating across teams and levels.

  • Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with VBA, Power BI, Alteryx, or Python preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CFA a strong plus.
