Transportation Analyst

Overview

An organization is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Transportation Analyst to evaluate logistics operations, optimize transportation routes, and support day-to-day supply chain performance. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with data, and improving the efficiency of transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze transportation data including routing, delivery times, carrier performance, and freight costs.
• Monitor daily transportation operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Generate reports and dashboards to identify trends, bottlenecks, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Optimize shipping routes, load planning, carrier selection, and scheduling.
• Support the selection and evaluation of third-party logistics providers.
• Collaborate with operations, warehouse, and supply chain teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Maintain and update transportation management systems (TMS) or internal tracking tools.
• Review invoices, freight audits, and shipment documentation for accuracy.
• Assist in creating and improving SOPs for logistics and transportation processes.
• Support special projects such as automation initiatives, cost reduction programs, or network optimization.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel, SQL, or data visualization tools.
• Understanding of transportation operations, carriers, routing, and logistics terminology.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or similar platforms is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational ability.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
