Network Administrator II
DPP is seeking a Network Administrator for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.
Work arrangement:
- Fully onsite in Columbia, SC
- W2 position; 9 months
- Candidates must either hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret or T/S US security clearance.
Position summary:
- The Network Administrator II will join a team that provides for the identification and analysis of the business needs/requirements to USAOs necessary for the design, development, and deployment of secure office automation, wide and local area networking, case management and other applications.
- The Network Administrator will oversee data center operations efforts including engineering (designing, developing, installing, configuring, testing, and implementing) various Data Center/LAN task orders involving Cisco network solutions and other Data center LAN Infrastructure and Aruba systems.
- They will participate in capturing and analyzing technical requirements; documenting detailed system designs, implementation plans, and operations guides of network systems; participate in both project and operational meetings; providing Tier 3 level support utilizing change control processes.
- The Network Administrator will also serve as a backup to the WLAN/LAN engineering team to support the WLAN and LAN infrastructure projects.
Education/equivalency:
- Associate degree in Computer Science or networking;
- OR, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA);
- OR, 4 years supporting network infrastructure in a complex, multi-site environment.
Responsibilities include:
- In-depth knowledge of general overall data center technologies.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure design in a data center environment.
- Operations and lifecycle management for physical and virtual data center assets.
- Knowledge of multiple IT technologies, hardware, software.
- Ensure network connectivity throughout the Data Center LAN infrastructure
- Work with team members to deploy Cisco network equipment for LAN solutions.
- Create manuals and support documentation.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to various IT groups.
- Perform network administration duties.
- Knowledge of various Cisco technologies.
- Providing Tier 3 level support via change control processes and procedures
- Participating in both project and steady-state meetings
- Installing and configuring networking resources such as LAN switches.
- Participate in the design, development, and implementation of the network infrastructure.
- Monitor the overall network performance to proactively detect issues.
- Participate in initial implementation of general data center requirements, addition of new hardware and retirement of equipment.
Minimum required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Experience with Local Area Network and data center networks.
- Experience diagramming network designs, layouts, etc. using tools such as Visio.
- Experience troubleshooting network performance issues using SolarWinds, DCNM, DNA Center and Cisco Prime.
- Experience utilizing Cisco IOS-XE and NX-OS commands and understanding of VLANs and IP sub netting.
- Proficient knowledge in Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Windows.
- Experience utilizing and managing Windows IP/DNS.
- Experience with virtualization technology.
- Experience working with different types of fiber cabling.
- Experience with Cisco ACI.
Security requirements:
- Secret clearance required (can start with Interim Clearance)
- Must be able to obtain up to Top Secret Clearance
