Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree or experience in relevant discipline(s) including but not limited to communications, public policy, animal science

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
  • Computer skills including highly proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
  • Ability to be highly organized, adapt to a changing environment, work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Interest in public policy, technology and/or animal health
  • Proficiency in using professional social media platforms, such as LinkedIn
  • Familiarity with operating artificial intelligence (AI) models and programs, such as Microsoft CoPilot
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

Job Description The *** Animal Health Public Policy and Government Relations Coordinator will be supporting the Animal Health overall business in the U.S. and Canada. The coordinator will provide added value to the *** Animal Health Public Policy team by coordinating activities, drafting and distributing business communications, and working with the team to execute on key policy issue areas. An interest in public policy and/or animal health is critical. Prior experience is preferred but not required. Issue areas covered by the public policy team include but are not limited to animal health and welfare, One Health and zoonoses, sustainability, animal traceability, biotechnology, precision livestock agriculture, animal monitoring, telehealth, international trade, and reauthorization of the Animal Drug User Fee Act and the Agriculture Improvement Act (“Farm Bill”). The job scope and primary focus for this position is to actively support the public policy team on a diverse array of projects and priorities that add value to the business including:

  • Policy (legislation and regulation) review and analysis
  • Meeting and event planning and partnership program management
  • Assist in engagement with key stakeholders, coalitions, and trade associations on priority issues
  • Participate in meetings and events including trade association and coalition meetings, briefings and events, etc. and provide summaries of these to the policy team
  • Ensure clear, concise and timely communication with the policy team and the business on priority issues
  • Partner with internal communications team to ensure resources on policy issues are available to business colleagues
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

  • Applicants must be available for a period of 1 year.
  • This is an hourly full-time position located in Washington, D.C.
  • Hybrid role-3days/week onsite.(Flexible)
