We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our marketing organization. As a Data Scientist, you will introduce greater scientific rigor into the marketing measurement and optimization processes to shape Pinterest’s revenue growth and marketing strategy. Your work will influence strategic decisions, identify investment opportunities for growth, understand revenue behavior, and define key metrics to grow and sustain our advertiser base. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Marketing, Product, engineering, Analytics, and more to solve a wide array of business problems.
This role is within the Marketing team and focuses on supporting business marketing efforts aimed at driving revenue growth for Pinterest. You will play a critical role in designing and implementing advanced measurement frameworks, building predictive models, and translating complex data insights into actionable strategies that enhance our marketing effectiveness and business outcomes.
About The Role The Data Scientist will lead the development and continuous improvement of marketing measurement frameworks and statistical models to evaluate marketing ROI across various channels, including paid media, organic social, email campaigns, in-person events, webinars, and e-learning platforms. You will build and deploy machine learning models such as propensity, forecasting, and lifetime value models to optimize marketing strategies and improve audience targeting. Additionally, you will develop attribution models to accurately assess the impact of marketing initiatives across multiple channels and employ causal inference techniques to evaluate incremental effects of marketing activities.
Strategic analysis will be a key component of your role, addressing questions like how to improve marketing ROI, optimize budget allocation, and identify new opportunities for advertiser growth and revenue. You will translate complex analytical findings into clear, strategic insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership. Your responsibilities will also include designing dashboards, automating reporting processes, and building scalable ETL data pipelines to support ongoing analysis and feature engineering for models. Your work will empower stakeholders with data-driven decision-making tools and insights that drive business success.
