About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at LILT. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure software infrastructure that supports our large-scale language translation systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and managing infrastructure across various environments, including bare-metal Linux systems, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will work closely with software developers, research teams, and security professionals to enhance system performance, ensure high availability, and implement best practices in security and operations. This position offers a hybrid work model based out of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, initially remote, with a transition to a hybrid setup once office facilities are available.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with full-scope polygraph
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Linux System Administrator, DevOps Engineer, or similar role
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, preferably Terraform
- Hands-on experience with GCP services including Compute Engine, shared VPC, and data analytics tools
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes or Swarm
- Knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and maintaining high availability in production environments
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory
- Preferred: Experience with DevSecOps, MLOps, GCP Landzone, and database administration
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain technical operations for development and production systems ensuring stability and security
- Lead infrastructure engineering projects to support company initiatives and scale systems effectively
- Collaborate with research and development teams to facilitate rapid and reliable software deployment
- Implement and enforce security best practices to harden infrastructure and safeguard data
- Optimize multi-region deployments to ensure low latency and high performance globally
- Monitor system health, establish SLIs and SLOs, and ensure adherence to SLAs
- Participate in infrastructure and engineering roadmap planning, setting and achieving quarterly OKRs
- Execute project sprints following SCRUM methodologies, ensuring timely delivery
- Introduce innovative technologies and practices in InfoSec, DevOps, and site reliability engineering
- Provide on-site support for self-managed customers as needed
