Data Modeler
DPP is seeking a Data Modeler for an opportunity in Blythewood, SC.
Work arrangement:
- Onsite in Blythewood, SC
- W2 position; 12 months, with the possibility of extension
- Out-of-state candidates must relocate to SC prior to starting the role
Position summary:
- Our client has started a system data modernization project and needs a Data Modeler skilled in the use of erwin or a similar tool to bring their expertise to this large project.
- The ability to reverse engineer is also an important skill for this project.
- Database administration experience is a plus, but not the main focus of the role.
- Provide Oracle and MS SQL production support activities as needed and directed by the DBA manager.
- The same modeling activities may be required for the MS SQL databases.
- You will be working in a team environment consisting of 6 database engineers and administrators and working directly with application architect, application developers, business analysts, and server support team.
Required technologies:
- 3 years of professional Data Modeling with erwin data or similar data modeling tool
- 3 years of Oracle 18/19 DBA and/or SQL Server 2019, 2022
Preferred technologeis:
- 3 years of experience with database backup and restore
- 3 years of Oracle Grid (Control)
Responsibilities:
- Create and update data models and documentation using erwin.
- Performing reverse and forward engineering of database structures.
- Providing best practices for data modeling, metadata management, and documentation.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining logical and physical data models using erwin Data Modeler.
- Ensuring database designs support scalability, integrity, and performance requirements.
- Identify data integrity and consistency issues. Provide reporting and recommendations to address the issues.
- Identify and aid with duplicate data resolution.
- Collaborating with data architects, DBAs, developers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into data models.
- Managing version control of data models and maintaining model repositories.
- Supporting data governance and compliance initiatives through effective data modeling strategies.
- Supplement the current SQL DBA force with production support activities such as ad hoc daily tickets, version updates, security updates, etc.
Preferred skills:
- SQL Server DBA certification
- DDBoost to support backup and restore operations for Oracle database
- Oracle grid control
- Oracle ASM
Education/certifications:
