About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack, to join our remote team at Capital One Software. This leadership position offers the opportunity to spearhead a diverse portfolio of technology projects, focusing on building scalable, cloud-based solutions that address complex regulatory and business needs. As a key member of our engineering team, you will lead and mentor developers, collaborate with product managers, and stay at the forefront of emerging technologies.
Your expertise will directly contribute to delivering innovative solutions that enable financial empowerment for millions of users and help businesses optimize their data management practices. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a strong background in full stack development, and experience working with cloud platforms, microservices architecture, and data pipelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience not included)
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
- Proficiency in programming languages including JavaScript (React), TypeScript, and Java
- Experience with open source RDBMS and NoSQL databases
- Hands-on experience with container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects, overseeing a team of experienced developers in creating innovative solutions
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications utilizing modern frameworks and cloud services
- Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define project scope and deliverables
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
- Stay current with industry trends, experimenting with new technologies to enhance project outcomes
- Implement best practices for code quality, security, and performance
- Contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, and compliant with regulatory standards
