We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong technical expertise in RPG, DB2, SQL , and experience working in Agile environments. This role involves designing and delivering high-quality features, collaborating across teams, and ensuring robust, scalable solutions.

Job Title: Software Engineer (RPG / DB2 / SQL)

Location: Hybrid – Des Moines, IA

Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Rate:50-65/hr W2 (90-120k conversion)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement complete features independently
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and refine requirements
  • Ensure code quality through comprehensive testing and validation
  • Communicate project status and technical updates directly to stakeholders
  • Diagnose and resolve complex bugs and production issues
  • Coordinate testing, deployment, and release activities
  • Manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Create clear technical documentation for team reference

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in RPG , DB2 , SQL, and familiarity with modern frameworks
  • Advanced debugging and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies
  • Understanding of business processes and application workflows
  • Ability to estimate work effort and manage priorities effectively
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork
