About The Role As a Data Scientist at Oscilar, you will play a pivotal role in developing and deploying advanced fraud detection models that safeguard our clients’ businesses from fraudulent activities. Being an early member of the Machine Learning team, you will have significant influence in building and expanding our ML infrastructure and capabilities. Your expertise will contribute to analyzing large-scale data, identifying patterns indicative of fraud, and continuously optimizing our detection systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to design robust fraud prevention strategies, ensuring compliance with data privacy and security standards. Your work will directly impact our mission to make online transactions safer and more trustworthy, leveraging the latest advancements in data science and machine learning.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related fields, with a focus on fraud prevention or anti-money laundering.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and familiarity with MLOps practices.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques applicable to fraud detection.
- Experience working with large datasets using distributed systems like Apache Spark and Dask.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to derive actionable insights from complex data.
- Effective communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced fraud detection models utilizing machine learning and statistical methods to identify and prevent fraudulent activities across our platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and operations, to design and deploy fraud detection systems and processes.
- Analyze large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies indicative of fraud, providing data-driven insights to improve detection strategies.
- Evaluate and optimize existing fraud detection models to adapt to evolving fraud tactics and improve accuracy.
- Stay informed about the latest trends, tools, and advancements in fraud detection, data science, and machine learning, applying this knowledge to enhance our systems.
- Communicate complex analytical results and model performance metrics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure all data handling and analysis complies with privacy and security standards and regulations.
