About The Role Rocket Lawyer is seeking an experienced, passionate Senior AI/ML Software Engineer for Rocket Copilot, our innovative AI assistant launched in December 2023. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in embedding advanced AI features across our platform, working within a dynamic, agile, cross-functional team. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, testing, releasing, and maintaining AI-driven features, collaborating closely with product managers, UX designers, data engineers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders.

Day-to-day, you will rapidly prototype new AI capabilities, develop and deploy generative AI features into production, mentor junior developers, and create backend API services to facilitate seamless interaction between Rocket Lawyer’s frontend applications and ML models. You will also be responsible for building, training, fine-tuning, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models, staying current with industry trends in generative AI and machine learning to continually enhance our platform.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience developing and deploying ML code in launched products
- Proven experience leading small teams of developers
- Extensive experience with production features leveraging large language models (LLMs) and generative AI
- Deep understanding of the state-of-the-art in generative AI, including RAG, LoRA, RLHF, and related techniques
- Experience creating and utilizing proprietary anonymized datasets for training and fine-tuning ML models
- Strong programming skills in Python
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Pydantic AI
- Familiarity with vector databases
- Proficiency in NodeJS, Java, Kotlin, or similar languages
- Knowledge of AI model evaluation techniques
- Interest in building user-facing products
- Understanding of microservices architectures and distributed systems
- Experience with data pipeline technologies such as Snowflake or Hive
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-Learn
- Strong SQL programming skills
Responsibilities
- Rapidly prototype and explore new AI features, ensuring clean, maintainable code
- Deliver and deploy generative AI features into production environments
- Mentor and guide junior AI developers to foster team growth
- Create, monitor, and troubleshoot backend API services to enable product frontends to interact seamlessly with ML models
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing and new Rocket Lawyer products
- Build, train, fine-tune, deploy, and maintain machine learning models for various AI features
