About The Role The Data Services Analyst at Candid is a critical member of the Data Services team, responsible for delivering high-quality data solutions, insights, and reports to both internal and external clients. This client-facing and technical role involves collaborating with sales, product, and stakeholder teams to understand data requirements, develop custom data extracts, and create impactful visualizations and dashboards. The analyst will play a key role in automating data processes, maintaining data integrity, and enhancing the organization’s data products. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, applying technical expertise to support the nonprofit sector’s growth and effectiveness. The role reports to the Senior Data Services Manager and requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and a passion for data-driven social impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical subject, business, economics, math, accounting, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in data analysis, database management, or related roles
- Proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries against large relational databases
- Experience with SQL Server tools such as SQL Management Studio, Reporting Services, and Integration Services (preferred)
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau (preferred)
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, C#, or related languages (a plus)
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms like Snowflake, AWS, or Azure DevOps (a plus)
- Understanding of statistical techniques and data analysis methodologies
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences
- Ability to analyze large datasets and synthesize insights into actionable reports
- Experience in stakeholder requirement gathering and client communication
- Knowledge of non-profit data or sector is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities
- Deliver custom data sets to clients by collaborating with sales teams to define scope, generate estimates, and ensure accurate delivery
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality reporting and analysis solutions tailored to client needs
- Participate actively in daily stand-up meetings to coordinate team efforts and share updates
- Automate data processes to improve organizational efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Build and maintain technical frameworks that enable rapid, consistent delivery of data products
- Create and update visualization dashboards to facilitate stakeholder understanding of data insights
- Develop and manage Data Services product offerings, ensuring they meet quality standards and client expectations
- Document code and processes for peer review and knowledge sharing within the team
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on projects to enhance data integration and reporting capabilities
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across Candid’s subscription tools and reporting databases
- Lead or participate in special projects as assigned, providing technical expertise and insights
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide consultative support
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve data quality, workflows, and service delivery
