About The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in monitoring and investigating potential fraud, waste, and abuse within healthcare claims. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and support investigations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S., providing an excellent opportunity for professionals seeking a dynamic and impactful role in healthcare analytics. For candidates located in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C., there will be a requirement to work in the office at least four days a week. As a Data Analyst, you will collaborate with investigation teams, prepare comprehensive reports, and contribute to the development of best practices for data analysis and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting healthcare claims analysis
  • At least 1 year of experience in code development using VBA
  • Hands-on experience of 1+ years with SAS or Python for data analysis and scripting
  • Knowledge of healthcare claims data and investigation processes is preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets
  • Excellent communication skills to present findings clearly and effectively

Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis and generate reports for the fraud investigations team, including data extracts, summaries, and sampling for special projects
  • Prepare healthcare claims data for investigative purposes and collaborate with investigation teams to understand data content and context
  • Establish and implement standardized policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with legal and contractual standards
  • Support data collection activities for the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and generate routine regulatory and executive reports
  • Develop and distribute scheduled and ad-hoc reports related to product performance, operational metrics, and technological developments
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to improve processes and detect potential issues
  • Communicate research findings and data insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the analytics and investigations teams
