Application Tips Perform technical work of considerable difficulty supervising and participating in the coordination, planning, design, installation, and maintenance of information technology solutions including computers, application support, security, networking, fixed and mobile communications, processes, and facilities.
- Work with county personnel to identify proper technology use and project management and oversee implementation of major projects.
- Troubleshoot issues with hardware or software.
- Set goals and objectives for the team.
- Line up available resources, tools, and materials.
- Assign resources based on priority and demand to complete tasks.
- Provide information to subordinates.
- Review needed training of team members and schedule.
- Conduct and review annual and end of probation performances.
- Provide trends in performance (PCPM) and speak to areas needing improvement.
- Provide informal and formal direction when necessary.
- Review quality assurance requests completed by technicians.
- Create operating procedures.
- Guide and direct troubleshooting steps.
- Recommends and manages security technology products and services.
- Supervises staff performance and skill development.
- Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Position Specific Duties
- Supervise the Pinal County Desktop Support team.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Five (5) years of experience IT Technical Support.
- To promote and adhere to the workplace values of accountability, commitment, and teamwork to help enrich lives beyond expectation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Arizona residents must have an Arizona Driver’s License upon hire; newly established Arizona Residents must have one within 30 days of hire.
- Dell Hardware and Peripherals.
- Supervisory experience with diverse teams while monitoring multiple projects.
- Ability to work with common computer and system tools and techniques.
- Ability to work independently in a technical environment with interlinked and changing priorities.
- Ability to effectively communicate technically complex instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to oversee and coordinate a wide variety of projects.
- Knowledge and understanding of Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Knowledge of training methods and procedures.
- Knowledge of Hardware and Software Inventory Control procedures.
- Knowledge of PC Imaging, networking, and troubleshooting Dell laptops and computers (including all peripherals)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office: (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Google Suite: (Docs, Spreadsheets, Drive)
- Knowledge of project planning tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of facilitation, leadership, and supervision.
- Skill in identifying system problems and recommending solutions.
- Skill in determining sources of problems with hardware and software and taking corrective action.
- Knowledge of technical support principles, processes, and standards.
- Knowledge of capabilities of IT systems, including networked environments and specialized hardware and software applications.
- Knowledge of hardware, software, and peripheral equipment troubleshooting techniques.
- Skill in installing, configuring, testing, operating, and maintaining IT hardware, equipment, software, and computer systems.
- Skill in using basic tools, equipment, and procedures for maintaining and repairing computers and peripheral devices.
- Ability to assess customer support needs and implement effective solutions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. The work also requires the ability to finger, perform repetitive motion, speak, hear, stand, walk, operate motor vehicles, and demonstrate visual and mental acuity.
Work Environment Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires the ability to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
