Data Science Assistant Manager (Capacity Planning)
Requirements
Must have:
### – Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience. – At least 2 years of work experience, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role. – Solid understanding of core data science principles and techniques, facilitating effective support and mentorship for team members during project execution. – Ability to oversee the production of regular reports and dashboards that visualize data science insights, ensuring they meet business needs. – Proficiency in assisting data scientists with troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges or data discrepancies. – Familiarity with data documentation and visualization tools, empowering the team to create impactful presentations and reports. – Basic leadership skills to guide team members in their daily tasks. – Project management abilities to ensure daily activities are completed efficiently and on schedule. – Strong communication skills for conveying instructions and performance expectations to the team. – Capability to provide constructive feedback and coaching to enhance team performance. – Ability to motivate team members to reach work goals and maintain high morale. – Proficiency in addressing issues promptly to ensure smooth operational continuity.
Responsibilities:
- I will coordinate the day-to-day activities of our data science team and assist in planning deliverables. – I will promote advanced model development, including version control, testing, and reproducibility to address complex business challenges. – I will collaborate across functions to leverage data and deliver actionable insights that align with our strategic objectives. – I will translate complex data into understandable insights and lead initiatives that enhance our data capabilities, contributing to our strategic goals. – I will actively manage project timelines, ensuring successful project execution, communicating needs and progress to stakeholders, and facilitating technical support as needed. – I will support research and foster a culture of innovation and experimentation regarding new data sources and modeling techniques. – I will partner with the Manager to align resources, resolve technical challenges, and keep model development on track. – I will promote an understanding of ethical modeling principles and best practices in data science among our team. – I will nurture and coach team members, supporting their development and performance while fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. Additionally, I will mentor early-career data scientists, helping them advance their analytical and technical skills, and reviewing junior team members’ model development and documentation. – I will stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and analytics. ###
