About The Role As an Emburse AI Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying advanced artificial intelligence solutions that revolutionize expense and invoice management workflows. Your expertise will help create intelligent systems capable of learning, adapting, and making autonomous decisions to optimize financial processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to develop innovative AI models, implement foundation models (GenAI), and integrate agents for autonomous inference and knowledge retrieval. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
• Minimum of 6 years of experience manipulating large datasets and developing data science products
• Hands-on experience with foundation models, GenAI, and AI agents over the last 1-2 years
• Proficiency in Python and statistical programming languages such as R, Scala, and SQL
• Strong experience with machine learning and deep learning libraries including Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, and Spark MLlib
• Experience with fine-tuning open-source foundation models with proprietary data
• Knowledge of AI metrics for model monitoring and evaluation
• Experience building autonomous AI inference systems and orchestrating AI agent workflows (e.g., ReAct frameworks)
• Deep understanding of data science concepts, machine learning lifecycle, and product development processes
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on product development and optimization
• Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration and stakeholder engagement
• Experience with data architecture design and data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker is preferred

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into heuristic and stochastic algorithm pipelines
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to assess product feasibility and validate ground truth
• Execute SQL queries and Python scripts for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization
• Implement explainable AI (XAI) solutions and rationalize model inferences
• Follow software development life cycle (SDLC) processes, participate in agile meetings, and conduct peer code reviews
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers and architects to deploy data products into production environments
• Ensure compliance with legal data use restrictions and data privacy standards
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of algorithm libraries for ML, NLP, and XAI
• Deliver scalable product pipelines for deployment and integration into existing systems
• Build and fine-tune foundation models such as LLMs and VLMs using proprietary data sets
• Develop autonomous AI inference and orchestration tools utilizing AI agents like ReAct
• Provide root cause analysis for model inference issues and performance bottlenecks
• Perform data annotation, labeling, and related activities for training datasets
• Document end-to-end data product design, development, and deployment processes
• Mentor junior team members and lead knowledge-sharing sessions
• Present updates on data product performance and conduct training sessions for stakeholders
