Senior Accountant, Global Capex Assurance uses technical and organizational skills to identify possibilities for improvement and drives systematic solutions. He/she has knowledge that encompasses accounting, information technology and software, and assists in driving process standardization in support of global operations and assists in recommending the optimal use of system tools and system enhancement. This position will support Equinix’s global capex accounting organization.Responsibilities Operational PolicyReviews and monitors non-standard transactions throughout the month and concludes on accounting implications per US and Local GAAPLeads the Accounting team on execution of conclusionsIdentifies process gaps and issues, supports findings with data analysis, and recommends areas for improvement; Identifies time-consuming internal processes and then builds solutions that are reliable and scalableDevelops & maintains knowledge of Lean quality improvement principles. Process ImprovementDisclosures and External ReportingResponsible for reviewing any additional disclosures needed for SEC reportingDesign governance structure to drive global consistencyManagement ReportingReviews month end management reportingResponsible for providing expertise and best practice recommendations to managementAssist in developing the KPI for Global Capex organization to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the Accounting OperationProactively assesses solutions from multiple angles, recommends and assists in implementing enhancements by working closely with IT on solution design and development of processes, systems and workflowsProvides recommendations to leadership on impacts, possible/necessary alternatives, and critical milestones regarding process changesBusiness PartneringWorks closely with Continuous Improvement function within the Global Controllership Organization as well as Finance Transformation & Strategy team in process automation, utilizing SQL, ERP tools and Robotic Process Automation (RPA)Leads implementation of process improvements and system automationPeople Management Provides true people manager leadership and direction to the team, through subordinates, to ensure overall success of the team while working in a multi-faceted environmentManages team activities including results, costs, methods, & staffing. May lead project teamDrives accountability for the performance and results of direct reports and maybe a larger or multiple teamsResponsible for hiring decisions and activities including job definition, interviewing, selection, and onboardingResponsible for employee decisions and activities including compensation, quarterly conversations, performance counseling, coaching and career developmentEnsures workload is balanced by leading the teamAssesses employee engagement and develops and implements strategies and programs to improve itResponsible for succession planning recommendations and contributing to and driving the people development strategyModels the Equinix Culture and ValuesAccounting Systems & COAExperience in Oracle Cloud suite with focus in Fixed Asset Manager and/or PPMExperience in any of the following tools and technologies is a big plus: Hyperion/PBCS, ARCs, CoupaUnderstanding of RPA technology and its impact on Accounting ProcessesTechnical AccountingWorks with stakeholders on reaching and documenting accounting conclusionsWorks with business partners on staying informed of relevant mattersProactively identifies unusual accounting matters and resolves complex issuesMonitors and ensures compliance with evolving US GAAP requirementsSupports implementation of new accounting standardsQualifications 3 years experience preferredBachelor’s degree preferredCPA certification preferredThe targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:United States – Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 80,000 – 120,000 USD / AnnualCanada – Toronto Office TRO : 73,000 – 109,000 CAD / AnnualOur pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
