About the Role

We are seeking a Mass Properties Engineer to join our Mechanical and Energetics team. In this role, you will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with diverse engineering groups to model and analyze mass properties for launch vehicles. Your contributions will ensure mission success by meeting critical performance and weight requirements, supporting national security, and advancing space and land-based scientific exploration.

This is an early-career opportunity offering hands-on experience with advanced aerospace systems, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mass properties models for launch vehicles and subsystems.
• Perform weight and balance analysis; estimate and optimize mass properties for launch systems.
• Establish design target weights and track compliance throughout the lifecycle.
• Maintain mass properties accounting systems and provide trend analysis to leadership.
• Support proposals, design reviews, and operational documentation.
• Conduct component weighing and verification to improve estimate accuracy.
• Present findings during technical and program reviews.
• Collaborate closely with other teams to gather data and communicate status updates.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field.
• 0-5 years of engineering experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic CAD knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Access VBA and Excel Macros.
• Ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with mass properties concepts: mass, weight, center of gravity, moments of inertia, and products of inertia.
