Working under general supervision, this position contributes to a wide range of essential tasks including animal care, reagent preparation, and hands-on assistance with student training. In this role, you will also helps execute experiments that generate critical data for grant submissions and scientific publications. With responsibilities tailored to the specific research focus, this role offers a unique opportunity to be an integral part of the research!Opportunities to ContributeAssists in the design, planning, and coordinating of experiments in support of various research projects.Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research and keeps detailed records of data.Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results.Evaluates and summarizes results.Select and arrange meeting facilities and equipment for meetings and special events associated with research projects.General lab duties, purchasing, autoclave, animal maintenance.Maintaining an accurate laboratory notebook, writing manuscripts, contributing to grant proposal, presenting findings.Training new personnel on lab procedures. Assists undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research.Rate: $15.85 an hourPlease Note: This position is grant funded; future employment may be contingent upon future funding.Qualifications High school graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience.Three years of experience in a research lab or office setting (undergraduate research acceptable).Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s in biology or related areaExperience with rodent models, cell culture, cryostat and histologyKnowledge of cell culture techniquesKnowledge of rodent husbandry and handlingCryostat work expertiseKnowledge of rodent brain tissue dissectionKnowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.Interpersonal and communication skills.What you need to do: Apply!
