Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Handles all claim reworks and adjustments
  • Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence and quality standards
  • Applies knowledge and skills to complex claim scenarios including adjusting accumulators and figuring of overpayment or underpayments
  • Demonstrates a depth and breath of knowledge/skills in own area and is often able to apply these outside own functions
  • Makes determinations on claims based on contract language
  • Identify and resolve claims processing errors/issues and trends, as needed

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 3+ years of experience in a related environment (i.e. office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools
  • 1+ years of experience processing medical, dental, prescription or mental health claims
  • Presently employed within UHC Benefit Ops- Consumer Ops
  • Experience with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Ability to work any shift schedule during our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with complex claim adjustments
  • Experience with reading and interpreting policy contract language
  • Knowledge of ICD 10, CPT, HCPCS codes and medical terminology

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
