What you’ll do

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs tailored to telecommunications construction activities, including underground and aerial projects.
• Ensure all safety programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize workplace injuries and incidents
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices
• Support subsidiary efforts to prepare and submit required safety reports and documentation to regulatory agencies and company leadership.
• Lead incident Learning Event analyses, ensuring thorough documentation and analysis
• Support subsidiaries in the development and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement within the workforce
• Promote safety initiative and engage employees in safety-related activities and programs
• Work closely with subsidiary leadership and other stakeholders to integrate safety into all aspects of project planning and execution.

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Safety Management role or relevant experience, with Power industry experience a plus
• Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Proficient skill in Microsoft Excel to include creation and manipulation of pivot tables, Google Applications for Business, and additional Microsoft Office products and iPhone applications

Additional qualifications

• Expert trainer with the ability to train others as trainers
• Demonstrate strong management skills including ability to collaborate and maintain relationships with multiple subsidiary safety departments, and work through issues with each while maintaining confidentiality between the companies
• Demonstrate knowledge of federal OSHA Construction Regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
• Ability to learn and manipulate multiple internal computer applications and to interact with the data contained there
• Public speaking ability in groups up to 250 people
• Safety certification

• Routinely:

• Able to travel domestically (approximately 50-60% of the time) by car and air

• Engage in standard office activities such as standing, sitting, and using computers for extended periods.

• Occasionally: exposed to outside weather conditions
