Acoustics Engineer III

Location: Cupertino, CA 95014

Duration: 6 Months

Hybrid model in the Forge office would like someone who could be fully onsite but not required.

Interview Process:
Includes a coding review session (candidate won’t be asked to code live but will walk through examples and answer questions).
Will also include audio-related discussion and technical problem-solving.

Team Focus:
Developing AirPods technology with a focus on hearing protection and advanced audio experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
Work on AirPods features that protect hearing and enhance user experience.
Review and execute existing scope-of-work documents to run acoustic measurements.
Collaborate on real-time audio processing and signal processing tasks.
Develop or maintain real-time audio plug-ins.

Required Skills & Experience:
Strong programming background in Swift, Python, or real-time C (Swift is most commonly used with this team).
Solid foundation in software engineering principles and ability to work independently.
Passion for audio technology, with interest in music production, equalizers, or acoustic systems.
Motivation to learn and grow within the audio domain.

Nice to Have:
Experience writing real-time audio plug-ins.
Ability to tune and identify sound quality issues by ear (good hearing acuity for audio work).

Context:
This position will cover for a team member focused on signal processing.
