Manufacturing Consultant — Recombinant Peptide Manufacturing

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Consultant to provide expert guidance on recombinant peptide production using bacterial expression systems. This is a part-time, remote advisory engagement (approximately 8–10 hours per week) offering flexibility and the opportunity to shape peptide manufacturing strategies for a GLP-1 program.

Responsibilities:

• Advise on recombinant peptide manufacturing processes and best practices.
• Provide technical oversight and recommendations for E. coli–based peptide expression and production systems.
• Evaluate and guide process optimization, scalability, and manufacturing readiness.
• Support strategic decisions related to bacterial cell–based manufacturing and process design.

Qualifications:

• 10-15+ years of industry experience in biologic or peptide manufacturing (manufacturing or process development focus, not lab execution).
• Deep expertise in E. coli and other bacterial-based manufacturing systems.
• Strong understanding of upstream and downstream considerations for recombinant peptide production.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) preferred.
• Prior consulting or advisory experience in a manufacturing or CMC capacity a plus.
