About The Role We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our remote team, with flexible options for a hybrid schedule for candidates based in El Dorado Hills, CA, or Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing automated test scripts primarily using the Playwright framework to ensure the seamless functionality of our web applications. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, and product managers to define, design, and implement effective test automation strategies. The Automation Engineer will also maintain and improve existing test suites, perform end-to-end testing, and analyze test results to enhance product quality. Qualifications
- 3+ years of programming experience with Java, JavaScript, and Python
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on code design, quality, and architecture
- Experience creating and managing end-to-end automated test cases using frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or similar
- Working knowledge of software development methodologies, including experience with automated build systems, version control, and issue tracking tools
- Experience with Cross Browser Testing on browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Safari
- Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server or MySQL
- Experience with other testing frameworks or tools like Jest is a plus
- Experience with Browser Extensions is a plus
- Knowledge of API integration and manual test path automation
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute automated test scripts utilizing the Playwright framework to ensure web application functionality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement comprehensive test automation strategies
- Maintain and enhance existing automated test suites to align with application updates and new features
- Identify, document, and track software defects, verifying fixes through re-testing
- Perform end-to-end testing across various web applications to ensure optimal user experience
- Analyze test results, generate detailed reports, and provide actionable feedback to the development team
- Integrate manual test cases and API scripts into the UI testing process to automate workflows
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices in test automation and software quality
- Work alongside software engineers to optimize automation processes, improve test coverage, and enhance overall functionality
