About The Role We are seeking a dedicated QA/Test Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team at Optum. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our data warehouse, ETL processes, and business intelligence solutions. Your primary focus will be developing and executing comprehensive test plans, automating testing procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data-driven solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, create detailed test cases, and utilize advanced tools and methodologies to identify and resolve defects efficiently. Your expertise will contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes, including leveraging AI-enabled tools to streamline workflows and enhance testing accuracy. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background and relevant experience, including:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in QA/testing, specifically with data warehouse, ETL, or BI testing.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with SQL for data validation and test automation.
- Proficiency with QA tools such as HP ALM, JIRA, Azure DevOps (ADO), or similar test management platforms.
- Experience in writing detailed test cases and executing manual and automated testing procedures.
Preferred qualifications include advanced knowledge of modern data architectures, cloud data platforms, scripting for automation, and familiarity with AI/ML validation processes.
Responsibilities Your key responsibilities will include:
- Actively participating in walk-throughs, inspections, reviews, and user group meetings to ensure quality standards are met.
- Developing comprehensive test cases, prioritizing testing activities based on project requirements.
- Executing test cases, identifying, documenting, and reporting defects with appropriate severity and priority levels.
- Performing regression testing whenever code changes are introduced to confirm defect fixes and system stability.
- Preparing detailed status reports to communicate testing progress, issues, and resolutions to stakeholders.
- Gaining in-depth knowledge of systems and applications to improve test quality and coverage.
- Advancing test automation efforts by leveraging current tools and exploring new automation solutions.
- Collaborating within Agile scrum teams, grooming user stories, and defining acceptance criteria to ensure clear testing objectives.
- Sharing ideas and insights effectively with technical and non-technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Researching and implementing innovative testing tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to optimize delivery speed and quality.
- Applying data validation techniques, data profiling, and reconciliation methods to ensure data integrity and quality.
You will also be involved in exploring emerging trends in data platforms and automation technologies, continuously seeking ways to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
