Must have:

– I need candidates who can obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance. – U.S. citizenship is essential, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. – A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is required. – This position calls for 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships). – Experience in object-oriented software development using a high-order language such as Java in a Linux environment, along with unit testing tools (e.g., JUnit). – Proficiency in scripting languages. – A willingness to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities:


  • As a Java Software Engineer, I will expect you to design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications for our Satellite Ground Systems. – You will closely collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and fellow software engineers to provide reliable and high-performance software solutions. – Anticipated duties include: – Designing, implementing, and testing Java-based applications and software components for satellite ground systems. – Collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish software requirements and specifications. – Modifying previously written code as necessary. – Ensuring software performance, reliability, and scalability. – Participating in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities. – Contributing to the achievement of program and project milestones under the guidance of your immediate supervisor. – Adhering to established software processes and procedures, including development, documentation, and maintenance/management of operational concepts, requirements, and other software engineering artifacts. – Staying informed about the latest advancements in Java and satellite technology to drive innovation.

  • Initially, this position may be a limited part-time role while you go through the clearance process. Upon approval of a U.S. government-issued TS/SCI security clearance, full-time work can begin. Unclassified tasks may be accessible prior to that approval, but availability is not guaranteed. – Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Ansible, Jenkins, containers, and the Spring Framework, along with a security certification, experience with the Atlassian tool suite, and knowledge of satellite communication systems and protocols.
