Director, Patient Access – Pre-Registration (Hybrid)

Position Summary

Director, Patient Access — Pre-Registration (Hybrid) Location: Orlando, FL (3160 Southgate Commerce Blvd)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Hybrid (Onsite rotation required)

Overview Orlando Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to lead our Pre-Registration department within Patient Access.

This non-patient-facing role supports a high-volume, centralized operation similar to a call center, with a large remote workforce and broad scope across all facility-based appointments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of approximately 70 team members with ~85% of the team working remotely.
• Oversee pre-registration processes including insurance screening, authorization verification, estimate creation, and financial counseling via MyChart or phone.
• Ensure consistent coverage and leadership presence onsite, rotating with three other directors.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and participate in panel interviews for team development.
• Drive operational excellence, workflow optimization, and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage departmental budget, staffing, and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years in Patient Access or Patient Financial Services.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Proven experience in pre-registration processes.
• Background in call center operations or MyChart functionality is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a large, remote team and adapt to a flexible schedule.

Work Environment

• Hybrid role with initial 90-day onsite training.
• Must be a hands-on leader with flexibility to support department needs.
• Remote days are coordinated among directors to ensure continuous onsite coverage.
