Engineer II Satellite Network Operations for the Location Andover, ME
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain RF, IF, and baseband systems for satellite communications.
- Perform diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting using industry-standard tools and procedures.
- Configure and maintain satellite and network equipment including modems, routers, switches, and amplifiers.
- Monitor network performance and respond to anomalies and customer issues per escalation protocols.
- Manage antenna configurations and control systems, including integration and change management.
- Document system configurations and updates in engineering databases.
- Coordinate service activations and testing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide on-site operational support with minimal supervision during assigned shifts.
- Commission VSAT terminals (iDirect, Newtec) and manage multiple VSAT hubs.
- Participate in emergency restoration procedures and ensure service continuity.
- Collaborate with government, domestic, and international clients to maintain service quality.
- Maintain strong working relationships across departments to support project execution.
- Participate in rotational on-call coverage and provide last-minute shift support as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate s degree in Electronics or Telecommunications, or 2 4 years of relevant experience in RF/Satellite communications.
- 2 4 years of hands-on experience in satellite network operations.
- At least 1 year of experience with IP technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor s or technical degree in Electronics/Telecommunications.
- Experience with earth station or teleport operations.
- Familiarity with antenna control systems and integration.
- Industry experience with companies like DISH, EchoStar, or Intelsat.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or satellite/IP-related credentials.
- Experience with monitoring tools and engineering documentation systems.
