Engineer II Satellite Network Operations for the Location Andover, ME

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain RF, IF, and baseband systems for satellite communications.
  • Perform diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting using industry-standard tools and procedures.
  • Configure and maintain satellite and network equipment including modems, routers, switches, and amplifiers.
  • Monitor network performance and respond to anomalies and customer issues per escalation protocols.
  • Manage antenna configurations and control systems, including integration and change management.
  • Document system configurations and updates in engineering databases.
  • Coordinate service activations and testing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide on-site operational support with minimal supervision during assigned shifts.
  • Commission VSAT terminals (iDirect, Newtec) and manage multiple VSAT hubs.
  • Participate in emergency restoration procedures and ensure service continuity.
  • Collaborate with government, domestic, and international clients to maintain service quality.
  • Maintain strong working relationships across departments to support project execution.
  • Participate in rotational on-call coverage and provide last-minute shift support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate s degree in Electronics or Telecommunications, or 2 4 years of relevant experience in RF/Satellite communications.
  • 2 4 years of hands-on experience in satellite network operations.
  • At least 1 year of experience with IP technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor s or technical degree in Electronics/Telecommunications.
  • Experience with earth station or teleport operations.
  • Familiarity with antenna control systems and integration.
  • Industry experience with companies like DISH, EchoStar, or Intelsat.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or satellite/IP-related credentials.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and engineering documentation systems.
