MATERIAL SORTER

Overview As a Sorter , you’ll get to hand sort pallets and other materials within a distribution facility and ensure high levels of safety and cleanliness. This is the perfect role for someone looking to maintain high levels of activity and it is vital to the success of our plant’s production!Â

Hourly Pay:Â $15.00/hr.

Shift(s):Â 1st Shift Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, Saturdays when needed 7:00am-11:30am

What You’ll Do

• Hand stack pallets to appropriate heightsÂ
• Load and unload materials from trailers by handÂ
• Move pallets, or materials on pallets or in crates, around the facilityÂ
• Check loads to make sure they are secureÂ
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standardsÂ
• Coordinate trailers moves within yard management systemÂ
• Accurately complete production paperwork to track progressÂ
• Communicate directly with plant management regularlyÂ

What You’ll Need

• High school degree or GED required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills needed
• Ability to work overtime when needed

• Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
• Repetitively lift up to 50-75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths in timeÂ
• The noise level in the work environment depends on locationÂ
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision
