Java Developer (Remote — Contract to Hire)
Location: Remote (U.S.-based)
Compensation: $70/hr | Conversion up to $140,000
About the Role
TechLine Consulting is hiring on behalf of a client seeking a Java Developer for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This remote role focuses on backend development using Java , Spring Boot , and AWS. The ideal candidate is a strong generalist who can contribute across the full development lifecycle and is looking to grow into a long-term engineering role.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain REST APIs and backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design scalable systems
- Deploy and manage backend applications in AWS environments
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
- Participate in DevOps workflows, CI/CD processes, and automation
- Monitor and optimize system performance
- Engage in team agile ceremonies, code reviews, and peer collaboration
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional Java development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and API architecture
- Solid AWS experience (e.g., Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS)
- Proficiency in relational databases and version control tools (e.g., Git)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker a plus)
- Strong communicator who thrives in distributed teams
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
