Executive Assistant
A dynamic and fast-moving organization is seeking a highly capable and experienced Executive Assistant to directly support the CEO. This Wilmington-based position (with travel to Raleigh once per week) is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-demand, high-expectation environment and can confidently take ownership of cross-functional projects with minimal direction. This is not a traditional admin-heavy role; it”s a strategic operational support position for a visionary CEO, perfect for someone with prior C-suite experience, strong follow-through, and a sharp instinct for execution.Executive Assistant Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted partner to the CEO by managing high-priority projects from inception through completion with minimal oversight.
- Act as liaison between the CEO and internal departments, nonprofit partners, and potential clients to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
- Support business development activities by organizing client engagement efforts (e.g., coordinating logistics for season ticket-based events, client outings, etc.).
- Assist with award submissions and coordinate involvement in regional recognition programs such as Fast 50 and Triangle Business Journal events.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee logistics for internal and external events, meetings, and philanthropic partnerships.
- Support the CEO”s community-facing initiatives, ensuring timely execution of related projects and communications.
- Collaborate with staff across offices and locations to ensure all moving pieces are on track-often handling assignments that touch marketing, operations, and leadership.
- Demonstrate impeccable judgment, discretion, and adaptability while working closely with a detail-oriented, fast-paced executive.Job Requirements Executive Assistant Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience supporting a C-level executive, with a strong preference for candidates who have directly supported a CEO.
- Proven ability to thrive in high-performance, visionary environments and manage shifting priorities with poise.
- Strong project management and operational coordination skills.
- Comfort working in-office 4 days per week in Wilmington and 1 day/week in Raleigh (travel flexibility required).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required for highly experienced candidates.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-moving, non-linear environment where expectations are high and guidance may be minimal.
