Your Opportunity Responsible for performing Load Balancing engineering as well as business management functions in an overall Engineering role. This engineer will lead engineering projects, provide day-to-day support for the overall Load Balancing environment as well as contribute to automation development and project/business management (related to the technical projects specific to the organization). The engineer will also have key and influential interactions with application teams and automation teams to develop technical processes for all load balancing related processes.Key Responsibilities Assist in the development of new architectural standards with architect leadsCollaborate with peers and other team engineers/business partners to deliver on Load Balancing network service requestsResponsible to drive Load Balancing projects and Jira requests to timely completionMaintain compliance with audit responsibilities, related to Load Balancing configurations and architectural standardsDevelop and/or review technical scripts for network implementations, via the change management processSupport some night and weekend change implementation windowsManage/Balance technical completeness while achieving business needs (accuracy and timeliness)Working with F5 and other vendors to achieve the technical goals of the firm while holding the vendors accountable to the needs of individual and/or firm goals/deliverables.What you have Requirements: Ability to collaborate with stakeholders seamlessly and successfully team cross-organizationally on infrastructure deliverablesTeam player with strong customer service qualities and a positive attitude3+ years of Schwab domain technology experience as a current or recent contractor or employeeDetail-oriented, with ability to maintain a high level of accuracyAbility to balance multiple projects, analyze problems, and prioritize tasksInitiates and supports change to improve internal processes and operationsAble to self-manage work and complete assigned tasks within deadlines7-10years of Advanced knowledge of F5 HardwareResilient cabling / appropriate use of ASIC / FPGA layouts to ensure appropriate fault domainsCertification processes of new devices/modelsSizing of hardware to ensure appropriate capacity/resiliency in clustered and standalone deployments7- 10 years of Advanced knowledge of F5 Load BalancersFocus on LTM and GTM modules, but also ability to function in AFM and APMClustering / High availability design and implementation for both chassis and non-chassis based deploymentsAdvanced routing module, BGP, OSPF, and how these things function in standalone and clustered deploymentsAbility to function 100% on the command line (TMSH, BASH, IMISH)Understanding of iCall, triggering methods, scripting language, etc.Understanding of iRules, triggering events, scripting language, etc.Automation abilitiesKnowledge of one or more of AS3, DO, and TS addons to F5 TMOSAbility to understand and create scripts in one or more of:PythonBashPowershellAbility to call iControl or iControlREST APIs on the devices and process the output into useful reportingHigh level understanding of Ansible or TerraformOperational abilitiesAbility to “see the forest through the trees” on troubleshooting callsUnderstand problem statements as defined by teams with no networking knowledgeCreate and follow maintenance plans/keep the lights on activitiesParticipate in an on-call schedule, as well as other pre-planned night/weekend activitiesDrive problem resolution (post-incident) to ensure appropriate action items and preventative measures are designed/implemented
