Job Description: Our client is seeking a passionate and driven Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their Database Services team. Reporting to the SRE Manager, this role focuses on ensuring the performance, availability, and scalability of critical database platforms

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply software engineering best practices to maintain and enhance the reliability of database systems.
  • Support and modernize database platforms including Oracle Exadata, AWS RDS, Cloud Data Warehouses, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
  • Contribute to the stability and performance of mission-critical data infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Strong grasp of SRE principles: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident response.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c) and Exadata.
  • Proficiency with RMAN, Data Guard, RAC, ASM, and Exadata-specific features.
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL Server, including clustering and T-SQL tuning.
  • Scripting skills in Python or equivalent for automation.
  • Experience with observability tools (Dynatrace preferred).
  • Proven ability to reduce toil and improve system observability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Oracle Database certifications.
  • AWS certification.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
