- Cloud Migration Engineer (Azure/AWS/VMC VMware Workloads)
Location: Remote with light onsite support as required
Duration: 12 Months Extension
Clearance: Must pass K-12 background check & registry check
Role Summary
The Cloud Migration Engineer executes the migration waves, builds tooling pipelines, configures DR/backup services, performs replication cutover, and supports operational stabilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy migration tooling (HCX / CloudEndure / MGN / Azure Migrate)
- Configure landing zone components per architect design
- Build replication & cutover schedules with minimal downtime
- Implement network routing, storage mapping, and test migrations
- Perform pilot migration & wave-based production migration
- Troubleshoot performance, IAM, DNS, and dependency issues
- Participate in hypercare and early cloud ops stabilization
- Provide technical knowledge transfer to district staff
- Support SOC/log forwarding, backup configuration, DR failover testing
Required Technical Qualifications

4 6 years hands-on VMware migration experience

Strong cloud operations background (Azure/AWS)

Experience with:

VM replication & conversion tooling

Firewall/security groups

Storage migration (block & object)

Backup & DR configuration (native 3rd party)

Linux Windows migration exposure

Ability to write/maintain cutover runbooks
Preferred Certifications
- Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or AWS SysOps Administrator
- VMware VCTA/ VCP (nice to have)
- Cloud networking certification is a plus
Soft Skills
- Customer-facing & documentation oriented
- Works well in structured phased timelines
- Comfortable with after-hours cutover/support windows
