THE WORK Our Global Sustainment (GS)Team at our Ventura facility within Lockheed Martin is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Assistant Senior. Our team provides MK 41 Logistics Support to the U.S. Navy (USN) and FMS Nations including test and repair of Vertical Launch System (VLS) Depot Level Repairable (DLR) items, installation & checkout (INCO) supply point, engineering and field service support for all VLS ships (USN and allied, all baselines and configurations). Our current contracts include: VLS Design Agent Contract for VLS Program Office and VLS Fleet Supply Support (Performance Based Logistics) for NAVSUP USN, FMS and DCS Users.
In addition to the standard job description, the selected candidate will perform a variety of warehouse duties in support of the USN VLS. Utilizing Lockheed Martin (LM) and government software accounting tools and shipping procedures to pick pre-packed products off the shelf to fulfill daily requisitions received from USN ships. Our S&R Assistant Senior will prepare these products for shipping determining accurate size, volume and weight to be used for Transportation documentation. This position requires a strong sense of urgency and a commitment to process multiple shipments for same day pick-up by carriers to meet pre-defined schedules. The S&R Assistant Senior will Combine products into larger containers with appropriate packaging material to ensure safe shipment via surface or air to anywhere in the world and work closely with the Transportation department to ensure all hazardous materials for shipment are marked appropriately. In addition, this position will perform receiving functions also utilizing LM and government tools to add incoming products to stock including ready-for-packaging products and suspect products requiring repair or scrape and provide piece-parts to repair technicians from stock ensuring proper accountability to USN contracts and part value.
Driver’s License Requirements: This position requires a valid Driver’s License to transport products and material between LM, Vendor and Customer sites.
Security Clearance Requirements: Applicants selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Selected candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret level government clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
The Locale: Ventura is located northwest of Los Angeles on the California coast and is famed for the quality and frequency of the surfing conditions at spots such as Surfer’s Point at Ventura County Fairgrounds. The population was 106,433 at the 2010 census. Downtown Ventura is home to the Mission San Buenaventura, museums, galleries, dining, and shopping. The Ventura Harbor has fishing boats, seafood restaurants and a retail center.
