About The Role We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team, specializing in the proprietary trading sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of trading firms and a robust network within the trading talent market. In this strategic role, you will partner closely with trading leadership to attract top-tier talent, develop effective compensation structures, and enhance our employer brand within the trading ecosystem. Your expertise will be vital in aligning people strategies with trading floor dynamics, ensuring that organizational structures support revenue generation and performance objectives. This is a hands-on, high-impact position designed for a professional who understands the performance-driven environment of trading firms, trader psychology, and the nuances of talent management in this specialized industry.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in HR Business Partner or senior people leadership roles
  • At least 3+ years of experience working within or closely with trading firms, hedge funds, or high-frequency trading organizations
  • Strong personal network within proprietary trading firms and the broader trading industry
  • Deep understanding of trading culture, market dynamics, and talent acquisition strategies
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to develop and implement talent and compensation strategies tailored to trading environments
  • Experience in designing trading-specific compensation and incentive schemes (preferred but not mandatory)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with trading leadership to align organizational structure and talent strategies with revenue and performance goals
  • Manage the full people agenda for the Trading division, serving as a trusted advisor to trading teams and managers
  • Lead talent acquisition efforts for traders, researchers, and trading technologists, leveraging personal networks and collaborating with internal and external recruiters
  • Develop and promote the company’s Employer Value Proposition (EVP) to attract, engage, and retain top trading talent
  • Design and implement competitive compensation and incentive frameworks, including profit-sharing and deferred compensation plans
  • Analyze HR and performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for enhancing team productivity and engagement
  • Facilitate leadership development programs and succession planning within trading teams
  • Oversee onboarding processes, performance feedback mechanisms, and personnel decisions such as exits and negotiations, working closely with leadership
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies while fostering a positive, performance-oriented culture
